WELL WORTH SEEING: CAPOTE & ROME

This has been a truly emotional weekend - from seeing Diane Tasca in Master Class last night, to our amazing runthrough today (more on that tomorrow) and tonight seeing a spellbinding performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman in Capote. I have always thought Mr. Hoffman was a brilliant actor and I hope that the Academy will finally recognize his brilliant work in next year's Oscars. He completely transforms himself into Truman Capote - a man who is not a very nice man to begin with - but as the film progresses you see the vulnerable man inside the monster. It is a spellbinding performance and a must see film - the brilliant screenplay is written by first-time writer Dan Futterman who is a great actor (he played Robin Williams' son in The Birdcage.) Go see this film!

Also, if you haven't seen HBO's Rome - you have missed out on the best new show of the year. Mixing history with some amazing British talent - HBO scores high with this amazing new series. Tonight's series finale made me speechless. Check it out!

I will write about Woods tomorrow.

=+)
