TO GO OR NOT TO GO?
Today I was supposed to have auditioned for AMTSJ's production of Guys & Dolls but when I woke up today something didn't feel quite right so I am not auditioning. I figured that if I got cast it would interfere terribly with my fall school schedule and I already have a show that I really want to do later this year and I don't want to overdo things. Sometimes you have to trust yourself and do what your heart tells you because usually - it is the correct decision. I think I'm getting older too - because back in the day I could do show to show to show to show - not so much anymore. =+)
The other night was a very emotional one at La Mancha rehearsal. I got to sing my song "To Each His Dulcinea" which is one of the most beautiful songs ever written for a Broadway show and right after that Bill did his "Impossible Dream" speech & song and I lost it - I started to cry and as I looked at my other cast members - most of them were in tears as well. It was a wonderful evening and a true testament of how powerful this show can be.
This weekend are the Tonys which I think I will watch and I will also be going to see my friend Diahanna Davidson in As Bees In Honey Drown at Dragon Theatre. I am not going to be able to see much theatre this summer (unless a show performs on a Tuesday night.) The only other shows I really want to see are HAIR at Stagelight Productions which my dear friend Jon Rosen is directing, Theophilius North at TheatreWorks which my friend Kristin Stokes is doing and Midsummer Night's Dream with San Francisco Shakes which my pals Gary Martinez & Michael Storm are in.
That's all for now.
=+)
