STAGED READING

theatre Q returns to Peninsula with staged reading of Making Warren Straight by Dale Albright(Palo Alto, CA) theatre Q is proud to be returning to the Peninsula with a staged reading of its first original play, the Christmas comedy Making Warren Straight by Dale Albright. The last of two staged readings will be this Saturday, July 22 at 2pm at the Dragon Theatre. Local residents are invited to come be a part of the development of this new piece, slated for a full production in December, 2006.

Making Warren Straight joins 5 life-long friends at their annual Christmas dinner. Every year, Holly invites her friends Fran, Ursula, Poppy and their gay friend Warren for an extravagant holiday meal and gift exchange. Holly is shocked by her gift from Fran, a mystic who announces that she has turned Warren straight. None are more surprised than Chad, Warren's boyfriend that none of the women knew he had.

theatre Q was founded in Chicago in 1995 and presented its firstBay Area production in 2004. theatre Q's mission is to present the evolving images of gays and lesbians on the stage throughout the entire Bay Area. theatreQ first Bay Area production was Snakebit (Mountain View/Walnut Creek) in2004, followed by Things You Shouldn't Say Past Midnight (Walnut Creek/SanFrancisco), Cloud 9 (Mountain View), Walking the Dead (Berkeley) and, most recently,The Sum of Us (Walnut Creek).
