TONY AWARDS

One word: BO-RING! I couldn’t believe it. One of the worst Tonys ever (not who was nomiated or who won - the actual SHOW itself.) I am sure the rest of the country was watching the series finale of The Sopranos anyway. It was great to see Audra McDonald perform though - that was the highlight for me.

I have no comment on the winners because I have not seen any of the shows but I was thrilled for David Hyde Pierce. (When he won my Sis yelled out "Niles!" =+) and P.S. By the way - I don’t care for Raul Esparza’s voice - it shrills!!! Yeah he ended Being Alive powerfully but his over-diction and sound just didn’t do it for me.

Watching the Jersey Boys perform makes me glad I have no intention of ever seeing that show.

The best speeches of the night were from Julie White (who actually yelled "WHAT?!!" as she walked to the stage) and the amazing Frank Langella.

Three hours wasted which is fine because I had nothing better planned and I will watch The Sopranos on another night. I do celebrate Broadway and all its splendor but will somebody PLEASE put on a Tony Awards that makes me want to stay until the end?!!!
